I think this is one of the best - and probably goriest - episodes I have seen so far.
*Spoilers*
So now we know that Will is not dead, do we cue a sigh of relief? I guess so, because he's a main character and all. Emma receives a call to try and find Will so she goes to Noah and tracks his phone - imagine if you could have done that in the nineties. Anyway, Noah is super cool when it comes to technology and tracks Will's phone to an abandoned bowling alley.
Brooke and Jake's relationship seems to be growing as he goes with her whilst she confronts her father about her missing mother. However, there is still something creepy going on with him.
There's this weird mother-daughter, father-son going on with Emma, her mother, Kieran and his father. A big happy family of, er, couples. We then start to question Emma's feelings for Kieran as the episode goes on. During a family meal Emma asks Kieran to lie about her whereabouts as she goes looking for Will with Noah, Brooke and Jake. This is all occurring whilst Audrey sits her mid terms that she missed whilst she was in police custody. After finding Will hanging from the ceiling by his arms, Emma seems distraught at his possible death. He then takes a massive gulp of air and the chemistry between Emma and Will is more than just obvious. She loves him still. The killer makes an appearance to Brooke and she rushes to the others, leaving Jake alone.
The killer carves 'B4' in Will's back, which leads Emma to a drawer with a cassette tape in it. Upon listening to this cassette we hear Emma's father upset at the fact that her mother had slept with Brandon. Blimey, did not see that coming to be honest! I wondered if there was a crush of some sort, but nothing this serious. With the killer still about he makes himself known and tries to chase them all down. After calling Noah, Audrey is worries and goes to Emma's house to see her mother - blowing the whole lie apart. The Sheriff is there and calls back up to the bowling alley. Jake is stabbed but gladly, he will be okay, as will Will.
I appreciate Noah's little line when Jake said "let's split up" and he replied "said no-one who survived a horror movie ever" and there was also a Scream (1996) hint to Randy (and I guess Stu) when Emma said "I know this sounds crazy, but I'll be right back." I love these little references. I also feel that near the end where Noah said that Jake and Will could cause harm to themselves in order to take them off the suspect list was also playing homage to Billy and Stu as they did the exact same thing.
Kieran senses that Emma has feelings for Will and gives her space. She then goes to Will's house to watch a movie as it is clear that this whole 'Will could have died scenario' has brought back old feelings. She brings sweets and seems happy, until the killer gives her a nasty, 'unforgiving' call stating that she gave Will a second chance, just like her mother did. Just like Scream (1996) Emma turns up and finds Will tied to a chair with duct tape over his mouth. Just like Casey (Drew Barrymore) found her boyfriend, Steve, on her porch. Although the difference this time is that Will has a massive tractor blade thing (I have no idea what it is called) rotating behind his head. Unfortunately, Emma does not assess the situation properly, runs into a trip wire and this causes the tractor to go into drive, smashing into Will's head and blood and brains go everywhere, all over Emma. Nice. So he survives *sigh of relief* to then be brutally killed in a way worse than any other death so far.
